Madee is a qualified counsellor with a special interest in grief and loss; for loved ones who have passed and for pet owners who have lost pet soulmates. She lives in the tropical north of Queensland, Australia, where the birds are extraordinary and her own bird family of parrotlets, budgies and lovebirds keeps life wonderfully noisy and amusing. Her little blue parrotlet, Peter Pan, sings the Addams Family theme. She has no explanation for this. (Definitely creepy and cooky!)

Writing is Madee's deepest passion. It is not unusual for her to lose an entire day (or night) to a project and surface wondering where the hours went. She writes the way she counsels: honestly, without pat answers or borrowed scripts, and always with the belief that feeling seen matters more than being told what to do.

Her work spans pet loss and grief support, free verse and novel-in-verse poetry, and inspirational Christian writing. She is the ghostwriter for Walkie Talkie Faith written by Jenni Sedon - a warm and relatable collection of personal stories about hearing God's voice in everyday life.

What connects everything she writes is the same thing that drives her counselling work: a deep conviction that acceptance of oneself, and the knowledge of God's love, can make even the hardest human experiences a little less lonely.
